Hamburger Gravy
This was my dad's signature dish ! I can't ever eat it without thinking of him. I it serve over mashed potatoes, while he always served it over toast.
Instructions
Chop onion and garlic - heat a 12" skillet over medium high heat
Add ground beef and onions. Add garlic, salt and pepper after the meat has started to cook through and onions are translucent.
Depending on the amount of fat, drain all but 2 T. off. I usually don't drain at all. Add the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Add broth and stir to incorporate. Add milk after gravy has thickened and turn pan to high heat. If gray isn't thick enough, mix 1/2 cup of milk and 1 T. flour together, make sure to get out all lumps. Add to gravy and continue to cook until the consistency you want.
Season to taste with additional salt and pepper if needed.
