Delicious buckeye shaped candies - traditional to all of Ohio
Instructions
Mix together the first four ingredients until combined. Form small (walnut size) balls and place on parchment paper lined baking sheets. Place a toothpick in each ball and freeze for 20 minutes. While balls are freezing, melt chocolate chips in a double boiler, add Crisco once the chocolate has melted and stir to combine. The Crisco will aide in hardening the chocolate and gives it a glossy appearance. Once chocolate is melted coat balls in chocolate leaving the tops uncoated to look like buckeyes. I return to freezer or refrigerator for 10 minutes to allow chocolate to harden - remove toothpicks and enjoy!
